Happy Birthday Sage!

Happy Birthday to my very best childhood friend Sage. How old are you now? Doesn't matter cause you still look like a cute little teeanger to me, Gabs still thinks you are her age. Ahh, the memories we have shared there are so many to count. I am so grateful to have you in my life. I love you!

Palm Springs ended up being even more exciting than we originally thought it would be. Bullets showed up ready to kill, they really are a great team. The girls were a little nervous, but it did not show one bit. They were solid, precise and just a blast to watch. Let me explain the judging we have run into in the past, judges either judge on strictly tumbling or strictly routine or they just judge you on how many teams you brought to the competition, this year we have seen none of this the judging has been really fair and equal which keep the girls faith in these competitions.

First day we killed the routine, the Bullet mom's can be a little witchy especially to teams that pose a threat, there is no love lost there. Once they saw how great we did, there were no more smiles or "Good lucks" it was all about winning. When we were leaving the first day, I had forgotten to ask Gabs how her team did, they usually tell you what standing you are in, she said "Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, we are in FIRST! But the coaches said not to get a big head because it is a whole new competition tomorrow" She was right, they only hold onto about a quarter to half of you points the first day. If I am rambling sorry, I am just so proud of her hard work. Anyway. We were so excited but didn't want to talk about it much and make her nervous. We ended up getting dinner and hitting the pool where i met up with some other parents I usually hang with, my friends husband was making the best Raspberry Lemondrops and we had a great time. Next day comes and there is definitely excitement in the air. Gabs was cool as a cucumber and really excited to get out there and shake her booty. Her team was last to go on before awards and they did awesome, us moms knew our daughters did it, we just had to wait 10 grueling minutes for the results. We were all standing there nauseous, nervous some were just so emotional and right next to us waiting were the Bullet moms (oooh what b*tches). The announcement time came for our team and they announced 4th place, then 3rd place then 2nd place "Bullets" then there was so much screaming I couldn't even hear them announce Socal 1st place but I saw the girls jumping up and down and screaming, crying all that and I knew Gabs had made 1st. Right after was the announcement for Grand Champion (highest score), out of 25 teams 4 of which were Bullet teams, standing there was a 6 foot tall trophy and the suspense was unbearable, they turned off all the lights except for on that humungo trophy and finally after what felt like forever "Announcing the 2008 Athletic Champion, Grand Champion goes to .........Socal Elite Large Senior Teal!" WooHoo! They did it! Not only did they get first but they got their second Grand Championship for the season! Wow, was Gabs on cloud 9 the rest of the day, I think she still has her nose in the air a little bit. But she so deserves it, Gabs has come home from practice crying, hurting and exhausted. We have had so many nights of Advil, ice packs and doubts, but she always says she could never quit and let her team down. She started the season with 1 back handspring with a spotter and now has running three back handsprings , combos and standing multiple backhandsprings, absolutely nothing has stopped her from wanting to do more, she is my Champ!

Yeah Friday!

Big suprise, Gabs has another competition this weekend. So my mom and I are taking Gabs and her best friend to Palm Springs for what is to be a dueling competition, I say dueling because they will be competing against bitter rivals the Bullets. I'm not worried, Gabs team is so on top of their routine they will be great. Our girls weekend away means G and Wy get to spend the whole weekend doing boy stuff, Wy is very excited, that means he gets to go to the park and play with dad. My excitement is not only to watch my beautiful daughter dance her heart out but nearby is an outlet mall I can't' wait to get to. Quicksilver -for hooded sweatshirts for Wy, Nike- for soccer shoes for Wy and Etnies, for both kids who seam to be outgrowing shoes every month. By the way I haven't forgotten about Easter I just have yet to download my pictures. Have a good weekend!

Sunscreen anyone?

About a month and a half ago I had what was supposed to be my semi-annual skin check at the dermatologist, well it had turned out I waited about two years. Okay so I was just a little behind. I went, had a few moles removed and then got the fateful call, you need to come back in so we can remove all the surrounding areas of your "Severely Atypical mole". I made the appointment they suggested to wait until after vacation for some odd reason, I mean this mole couldn't have been bigger than a ladybug. Now comes yesterday, G takes me at the request of my mother who has been through it a couple of times, than god. They usher me into a semi-surgical room and proceed to tell G if he feels faint just to step outside and on and on about the recovery of about two weeks no lifting and strenuous moves. WHAT! What have I got myself into? I laid down and they started shooting me with numbing stuff and said it might take awhile, yeah awhile, so after a bunch of cutting, digging cottering, and way more digging the were ready to sew me up inside stiches and outside stitches. By nighttime a felt like someone had stabbed me in the back and sleeping was a way bigger issue, it was horrible especially because the pain meds gave me a little stomach ache to boot. While laying there in agony and not being able to just close my eyes and fall asleep, I thought "Why didn't I just put on that damn sunscreen?" So my question to all of you is, have you made your skin check appointments and have you stocked up on the sun goo for the upcoming sunny season for not only your kids but YOU?

Orlando

We have been home from Orlando for two weeks and I am just a little bit behind on the blogging. G and I, both kids and my parents flew over to Orlando for Gabs cheerleading competition and had an absolutely fabulous time. The weather stayed nice during the days and we had lightning storms at night that were pretty neat to watch. Gabs team did great, especially against some really good teams, her team got second. We weren't even expecting to place since we were competing for East coast judges. Alot of our pictures don't include Gabs because she was off with her team having a grand old time without the old fogeys. We stayed in a Disney hotel and were able to enjoy the parks for 5 whole days. We went to a great restraunt called Octoberfest, it was like a real German Oktoberfest with a lud band shouting out "oy oy oy" it was so much fun. We also went on just about every ride they had new and old at The Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios and Epcot. after those days we moved over the Marriot Villas and relaxed by the pool and had a nice low key time with the kids.

It's been a long time

Gosh, it has been so long! So much has happened since my last post. We have all been so sick! So wish us luck cause in just a few days we are all flying to Disneyworld for a huge competition for Gabs. Okay, so here a mish mash of pictures to update y'all. Gabs last competition was a national and not only did they place #1 out of 6 teams but they got overall high score out of 6 #1 teams in their division which made them Grand Champions! During the competition weekend we got the kids over to Knotts Berry Farm and they had a great time, Wy really liked the food, I mean candy. Wy turned 4 and we spent his birthday along with a bunch of family and friends at Kidsville a great playplace. The same day Wyatt turned 4, Kim and Nicky were down for Baby Aidans beautiful shower, don;t you love the cake. So like I mentioned before we will be going to Disneyworld and I promise I will have many pictures to share.
