Catching Up

I have had some catching up to do. I just posted a bunch of pictures from our families going ons. I have been trying really hard to take pictures of everything, I am finding out it is so worth it but very hard to keep up with.

Wy's First Soccer Game

Wy had his first soccer game this past Sunday, this is a non-competitive league and these kids are just the cutest. Our coach wasn't there so G had to go and assist with the game, he was able to give Wy pointers throughout the game and they sure worked, he kicked two goals, in his own teams goal. Wy kept running throughout the game I was wondering where he got all that energy. I swear I didn't see his feet stop moving the whole time. He might not have been near the ball but those little feet were on fire. I kept wondering what G might have told him, well come to fin out G told him on the way to the game to follow the ball and keep running. Poor kid took it literally, he was exhausted! But it sure was cute.

Dinner with Friends

Sage, Jer, Garon and I finally met for dinner. We lead such bus lives our get togethers are far and few between. We are trying to work on that.
The evening started at Cocina Del Charro and low and behold we ran into Emily! It has been a long time since we have seen her. Next we decided to stop at a pub we walk by everytime we go to Cruisin Grand, it ended up having a really good Raggae band, but boy did we feel old. Look at Sage and I, we felt so hip and young to be out at a bar, we even got carded and given these cool wrist bands.

Gabs last competition really crept up on us fast, next thing we knew we were headed off to Lost Wages!

Our pool had a shark tank, Gabs even got to go on a slide through the shark tank. Sitting at the pool with all the other Outlaw moms, I wasn't going to brave the swim suit like everyone else. It was only about 75 degrees, not hot enough for me! What am I drinking? My new poolside fave "Malibu Mai Tai"

Her team got first place and Grand champion out of 30 teams and also #1 Choreography. Not a bad way to end the season. What a suprise, not! They were such an amazing team with the best chemistry. Wow three trophys, do we have room for more? YES!

Go Padres!

G and I thought it was about time that Wy an Gabs both got to go to the games with us. So we went out on a limb and got tickets for the whole family and made it our first family Padre game. Too bad they didn't win, but we sure had a great time.

Happy Birthday Sage!

Happy Birthday to my very best childhood friend Sage. How old are you now? Doesn't matter cause you still look like a cute little teeanger to me, Gabs still thinks you are her age. Ahh, the memories we have shared there are so many to count. I am so grateful to have you in my life. I love you!

Palm Springs ended up being even more exciting than we originally thought it would be. Bullets showed up ready to kill, they really are a great team. The girls were a little nervous, but it did not show one bit. They were solid, precise and just a blast to watch. Let me explain the judging we have run into in the past, judges either judge on strictly tumbling or strictly routine or they just judge you on how many teams you brought to the competition, this year we have seen none of this the judging has been really fair and equal which keep the girls faith in these competitions.

First day we killed the routine, the Bullet mom's can be a little witchy especially to teams that pose a threat, there is no love lost there. Once they saw how great we did, there were no more smiles or "Good lucks" it was all about winning. When we were leaving the first day, I had forgotten to ask Gabs how her team did, they usually tell you what standing you are in, she said "Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you, we are in FIRST! But the coaches said not to get a big head because it is a whole new competition tomorrow" She was right, they only hold onto about a quarter to half of you points the first day. If I am rambling sorry, I am just so proud of her hard work. Anyway. We were so excited but didn't want to talk about it much and make her nervous. We ended up getting dinner and hitting the pool where i met up with some other parents I usually hang with, my friends husband was making the best Raspberry Lemondrops and we had a great time. Next day comes and there is definitely excitement in the air. Gabs was cool as a cucumber and really excited to get out there and shake her booty. Her team was last to go on before awards and they did awesome, us moms knew our daughters did it, we just had to wait 10 grueling minutes for the results. We were all standing there nauseous, nervous some were just so emotional and right next to us waiting were the Bullet moms (oooh what b*tches). The announcement time came for our team and they announced 4th place, then 3rd place then 2nd place "Bullets" then there was so much screaming I couldn't even hear them announce Socal 1st place but I saw the girls jumping up and down and screaming, crying all that and I knew Gabs had made 1st. Right after was the announcement for Grand Champion (highest score), out of 25 teams 4 of which were Bullet teams, standing there was a 6 foot tall trophy and the suspense was unbearable, they turned off all the lights except for on that humungo trophy and finally after what felt like forever "Announcing the 2008 Athletic Champion, Grand Champion goes to .........Socal Elite Large Senior Teal!" WooHoo! They did it! Not only did they get first but they got their second Grand Championship for the season! Wow, was Gabs on cloud 9 the rest of the day, I think she still has her nose in the air a little bit. But she so deserves it, Gabs has come home from practice crying, hurting and exhausted. We have had so many nights of Advil, ice packs and doubts, but she always says she could never quit and let her team down. She started the season with 1 back handspring with a spotter and now has running three back handsprings , combos and standing multiple backhandsprings, absolutely nothing has stopped her from wanting to do more, she is my Champ!
