Today Gabrielle started middle school, 6th grade. She woke up extra early to get ready so we could be on time for her new start time, almost 2 hours earlier than last year. She has been cool as a cucumber all weekend, getting ready for the big day little by little. Last night she made me straighten her hair, pluck her brows and she was in bed by 8pm. I remember the nights before I started school I wouldn't be able to sleep I would be so nervous and anxious. Not her, she slept great. Though this morning on the drive to school she told me she had butterlies in her stomach, and she admitted to having them last night as well. I couldn't tell one bit.
This is Gabs getting out of the car, since I wasn't able to even get out and walk her to class (school rules suck!) can you tell I called her back and said can you give me a smile really quick. Look at that smile, couldn't she have faked it just a little?
I also took the regular first day of school pics in front of the fireplace at home, will post them later.

OMG!! Middle school!! I feel so old!! I remember her as a tiny tiny baby. I think I may cry right aong with you!!
